Bently Brunson #22aday
Every day 22 veterans commit suicide. On Friday, my dad was one of them. Suffering through mental illness is difficult for millions of Americans. Bently had been seeking and receiving treatment, which unfortunately was ineffective and he lost his battle with his mental health and succumbed to his illness on April 26, 2019.
Bently John Brunson leaves behind a wife and 3 kids (6 if you count the dogs) as well as an unimaginable amount of loving family and friends. This gofundme will help my family with both current expenses and future expenses as the household will experience a (hopefully temporary) loss of income. The goal that I've set is more vague than even a 'ballpark figure' as I have not had time to crunch the numbers. However every single penny is so greatly appreciated by his family and will help take just that much off of our shoulders during this tragic time.
Always be vigilant of those around who show warning signs. These signs include but are not limited to:
-Family history of depression or bipolar
-Excessive amounts of stress and/or anxiety
-Talking about being trapped or in unbearable pain
-Talking about being a burden to others
-Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs
-Acting more agitated and more easily bothered by things than normal
-Sleeping too little or too much
-Withdrawing socially or isolating themselves
-Experiencing loss of self worth
-Signs of self harm
-Giving away personal items
-Sporadic spending
Most importantly, be kind to one another. A smile or a kind gesture towards a stranger at the grocery store could be just enough to keep them just above that tipping point. Peace and love everybody.
