Bentley's Fight: Help Alyssa's Lifesaving Companion
Donation protected
If you know Alyssa, you know Bentley.
For the past year and a half, Alyssa and her service dog Bentley have been an inseparable team. Bentley is a trained cardiac alert dog who monitors Alyssa’s heart, helping her manage life with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
But now Bentley needs our help.

Two weeks ago, Bentley began showing slight signs of neurological issues and swelling in his head. An emergency trip to the vet revealed two masses in his brain. The initial diagnosis was grim: possibly cancer or a severe fungal infection. He spent days in intensive care at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital. After beginning fungal treatment and undergoing more testing—including a second CT scan and a biopsy—we are still in the dark, waiting for answers. There is a tiny bit of hope from the second CT scan: the masses may be getting smaller. But as the vet told Alyssa, “It’s not time to celebrate, but it’s not time to plan for the worst either.”
Bentley is only three years old. He is young, strong, and so deeply loved—not just by Alyssa, but by everyone who’s met him. Alyssa started her professional career last July, and while she’s working hard to build her future, the mounting medical bills for Bentley are overwhelming.
If you know Alyssa, you know how hard it is for her to ask for help. She’s fiercely independent and carries the same strong spirit as her parents. But right now, she needs a community around her—just as Bentley has always been there for her.
Every dollar raised will go directly to Bentley’s medical care. If—though we hope this is not the case—Bentley is no longer able to continue as Alyssa’s service dog, any remaining funds will be used to help her obtain and train a new one.
Please consider helping. Share if you can’t give. Every kind thought, every bit of support matters right now.
Thank you for lifting them both up in this uncertain time.
