Hi everyone, this is Kayla, Bentley’s mama. Bentley recently had gotten really sick, and it wasn’t getting any better. He then stopped eating, and couldn’t keep down water. He would just immediately vomit it back up. I took him to the emergency vet to get him x-rays and an ultrasound to see what was wrong. That alone was $1,300 (this gofundme is strictly only for his surgery, not the x-rays) The doctor found out that there is a proximal small intestine obstruction. Meaning there is something lodged in his small intestine, not allowing him to process food/water. If I don’t get the surgery, he will pass away a painful death from sepsis. Or, I could euthanize him. I know everyone feels differently about pets, but he is my baby. He’s only 6 years old, and he’s the liveliest dog ever. We noticed something was wrong with him because he wasn’t jumping and barking, he’s usually very playful and very outgoing. It wouldn’t sit right with me to end his life, when he is so full of life. Not only that, but I wouldn’t forgive myself if I had the option to save his life, and end up choosing the latter. It pains me to ask for help because I want to be strong and try to do it myself, but I’ve been so strong this past year, and I do need the help.
