Hi my name is Carole McGarvey , last Sunday 8th of May our son Ben aged 20 had a huge accident on his motocross bike at a race , both feet and ankles are severe with compound fractures on both , he is currently in Letterkenny University Hospital where he has gone through 2 surgeries already and is waiting on a bed to become available for him in Galway, it’s almost a week since his accident and we have no idea of how long he will be waiting , he doesn’t have a medical card or health insurance and with the possibility of needing 4 or more additional surgeries plus rehab we will need help. He was a promising young athlete having played rugby for Ulster U18 Club squad ,City of Derry & Letterkenny rugby clubs . Motocross is a huge passion for him however he may never be back on a bike again it was such a traumatic event. Any help would be appreciated, let’s get Ben back on his feet sooner rather than later.
