Ben and Rosa-Lynn VanGinkel are originally from Ontario. In 2018, this young family bought a farm in Ebenezer, PEI and moved here with their newborn son, Tyler. Ben started a Custom Farm Operation company here in PEI. They quickly got to know many in the farming community. Ben works non stop. Ben works very long days, and is always working to provide for his family. Ben and Rosa-Lynn have a second child, Mia, who is almost two years old.

On Saturday, October 23rd, our friend and neighbour Ben was in a horrific farming accident. Ben was working at a farm when his hand got caught in the harvester. Ben was taken by ambulance and rushed to the QEH . As a result of his injuries, Ben underwent emergency surgery. Ben’s right hand had to be amputated due to the severe injuries. Ben is currently still in the ICU.

Just last week, on Friday, October 15th, Rosa-Lynn gave birth to their third child, Benjamin John. There were some minor complications when little Ben first arrived, but he is 9 days old and doing well now at home with mom and the other two children.

Ben will have a long road of recovery as he manages the pain, therapy, and adjusts his every day way of living. Ben was the sole income provider for this family of 5.

We want to support Ben and Rosa-Lynn in any way possible. So we are asking for your support, love, prayers, and help. We are kindly asking for monetary donations. Although we can’t fix the injuries, we hope to lift the financial stress on this young family as much as possible. This family is carrying a lot on their minds and in their hearts.

Any money raised will go directly to Ben and Rosa-Lynn. We are simply setting this up as a way to try and support them.
