Help Ben Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Hello everyone, I'm Kayleigh. I started this fundraiser for my older brother, Ben. This past January (2023), the day after his 32nd birthday, he was diagnosed with a high stage and rare form of cancer. The cancer is very agressive, so the treatment has been agressive as well. Any donations will go towards expenses Ben has while he's undergoing treatment. This includes rent, groceries, utility bills, car payments, and medical bills.
Before you decide to donate, here are a few things you should know about my brother. He started playing guitar when he was 11 years old, and music has been his passion ever since. He even taught himself how to play the piano when he was a teenager! He's also a gifted songwriter and artist, and has impeccable taste in movies and TV shows. Really just impeccable taste in general. He moved to Nashville to pursue a degree in music at Belmont University, and has stayed in the area to make connections and start his career in the music industry. Since then he's played gigs, gone to shows, and invested in professional recording equipment to build himself up as a musician. I'm not saying this because he's my brother, but he is truly one of the most gifted individuals I have or will ever meet. I know that once he's beaten this, he'll make music that'll change people's lives. It already blows the minds of the people that are close to him, and he's just getting started!
Ben is a genuinely good person, which is a rare thing these days. He's kind, humble, and patient, soft-spoken but thoughtful, and cares deeply about his friends and family. You'll never meet a more gentle soul.
This cancer diagnosis was very unexpected and despite the news, Ben has handled everything amazingly. He's a glass half full type of person, and has never been one to complain. He has always been very positive and gracious.
The treatment had to begin as soon as possible, and he is currently on a very rigorous treatment plan with chemotherapy. After he completes the initial rounds of chemo, the doctors will assess the treatment progress and decide the next steps. They will potentially need to do 1 or 2 major surgeries.
He doesn't live near family, so he has been driving himself to and from his chemo appointments. So far he's managed to take care of things on his own, but it's getting harder for him. Working has been extremely difficult, his full-time job is driving for Uber. Nausea and fatigue have been his biggest and most debilitating side effects from the chemotherapy. He hasn't even had the strength to do the things he loves the most since treatment started, like playing music.
The goal of this fundraiser is to make sure Ben can spend his energy on getting better. Without having to worry about driving for Uber while he's sick and how he's going to pay his bills. He needs to rest, he needs family and friends, he needs love and support. Ben is the last person I know who would complain or ask for anything. He's always been extremely selfless and has the biggest heart ❤️
We appreciate any help and all the prayers!! Thank you!!
