Hello all. As most of you may already know, Ben was in accident on Friday June 16th. He was riding his motorcycle when a car turned left in front of him and hit him head-on. He was launched over it and flew 30 feet before coming down on his head and landing on his left side. He sustained multiple injuries: a broken middle finger on his right hand, two dislocated fingers and damaged tendons on his left hand; multiple bruised ribs near his spine on the left side; a subdural hematoma and torn tendon in his groin; a broken left knee with cartilage damage; and, most seriously, multiple broken bones in his left foot with free-floating bones and ligament damage that will require surgery. I know, it’s A LOT. He’s still in the hospital five days later and we’re not sure when he’ll be discharged, but we do know that he’ll have to be sent from the hospital to a rehabilitation facility for intensive physical therapy before he can even undergo surgery. It’s going to be a long road to recovery.

Our family is not in a financial situation to take this on—the loss of income, the potential burden of medical bills, or the long trips to and from the hospital to visit him, which is 60 miles away from where the girls and I are staying. Gas is $5 a gallon!!! I know some of you had asked if he had a GoFundMe, and I hesitated to set one up because it’s hard for me to ask for help. But we’re not going to be able to get through this alone, so I thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart for anything you can give. It’ll help us survive and hopefully get us back on our feet again, literally and figuratively.
