I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out today with a heavy heart and a plea for your support during a challenging chapter in my life. My name is Ben, and I'm embarking on a journey towards recovery and resilience after another life-changing event—my second amputation. Life has been pretty shit for me these past few years. I was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2021. Two weeks after my 18th birthday, I had a below knee amputation, (along with 42 relentless rounds of chemotherapy over 18 months).

Life can throw unexpected curveballs, and this one hit me harder than I could have ever imagined. Now, nearly exactly 2 years to the day, and only 8 months since finishing chemo, I thought I was getting back into life, Uni, parties, drinking etc but no, another set back. The cancer has returned, this time in the base of my stump and behind my knee. So I have to have another amputation, an above knee amputation this time.

While I will loose another part of me, I am not giving up on life's incredible journey. I'm determined to adapt, overcome, and thrive, and that's where you come in, to ask for your support in this pivotal moment. The funds raised will be instrumental in covering the following:

Medical Expenses: These include the costs of the post-operative care, and prosthetic devices, among other medical necessities.

Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy: Achieving mobility and independence is my top priority. Funds will go towards ongoing rehabilitation sessions and physical therapy to help me regain my strength and mobility.

Emotional and Psychological Support: Coping with the emotional and psychological impact of an amputation is a significant challenge. Part of the funds will be allocated to counseling and support groups to help me navigate this journey.

Day-to-Day Expenses: Covering everyday bills and expenses while I focus on recovery will provide immense relief during this difficult time.
