Benny’s road to rehabilitation

Hello, family friends and community.

Benjamin Johnston is a 3 year old boy, twin to Jack, brother to Ronnie and son of Brent and Sarah Johnston. Benny is full of life, love and laughter. He has a passion for learning and being outside on the farm. As some may or may not know, he experienced a tragic accident on his family farm that resulted in two amputations of both feet and partial legs. Our goal for this go fund me it’s to help assist Benjamin with this extraordinary life ahead including many adjustments for him and his loved ones. Severe covid restrictions has made this even more difficult due to building capacities, lack of sleeping accommodations and bedside care. Equipment cannot be shared or passed around and must be purchased.

His journey to rehabilitation has only just began. Benjamin’s rehabilitation will include accessibility use of a wheelchair, multiple sets of prosthetics, intensive rehabilitation, living accommodations in Toronto, home adjustments for comfortable living, therapists, trauma consoling home care and cost of a rehabilitation centre to get him walking comfortably again.

Benjamin’s families goal is to assist Benny into feeling as comfortable and supported during his road to recovery allowing him to still feel and live as a 3 year old should. 

On behalf of the Johnston family we would like to extend our appreciation to everyone who has reached out in all forms, we see you and we thank you. We would also like to greatly acknowledge the first responders, nurses and doctors that got Benjamin to sick kid’s hospital so quickly.
