More information about North East Lincs Animal Rescue: A small registered charity run by a small group of volunteers and fundraisers dedicated to the rescue, fostering and rehoming of cats in the North East Lincs area.

This is who we have called Benny, a young black and white male cat that has been straying in Cleethorpes and has ended up desperately needing help.

Benny was seen In peoples gardens and some kind members of the public were feeding him.

it was noticed however that there was a serious problem with his tail, his photos were put in a local Neighbourhood site which raised awareness that he needed immediate help.

Thankfully he was caught yesterday and taken to a local vet for treatment.

They think he has been in a fight or had a trauma to his tail that has got infected.

The only way poor Benny knew how to deal with this pain was to wash and nibble at his own tail the end of the tail was already dead .

He must have been in so much pain, while also being out in the terrible rain and cold weather.

He today had his tail amputated while being neutered and microchipped at the same time.

Benny understandably is a very frightened little chap and has other scratches including his face, from fighting, trying to survive.

It is going to take a long time for him to heal, not only physically but mentally, while he learns to trust again.

The vets fees currently are over £1000 and will be in going with check ups and medication.

This is a terrible case of neglect and major injury that thankfully the public raised awareness and he’s got help.

Without NELAR this cats vets bills could not be paid for and his future would have been very bleak indeed.

it’s a large amount for a local small animal rescue to cover and we would like to give as much back as we can.

Please help us raise him some funds for Benny.
