Benny the Beagle Needed Surgery Today

For the past two days, Benny threw up everything we tried to feed him. The dude is food-obsessed, wakes us up at 7am with the highest-pitch bark you've ever heard (though he doesn't get fed till 8:30am. "It's not time yet" is a phrase he's very familiar with). Yesterday, however, he showed barely any interest in eating

We took him to the vet and they found a stone-like mass stuck in his small intestine. We think it might be the cod skin jerky we gave him as a treat (for the first time). It was really tough, and he has a tendency not to chew everything

One day of fluids and anti-nausea meds, and two sets of xrays later, the stone has not moved. So, he's now at the animal hospital waiting for surgery

Which gets us to this gofundme. The surgery is anywhere between $4000 to $7700 on top of the $550 we've spent these past two days; it's well past what we had saved for puppy emergency funds. Other than this, he had been incredibly healthy, so this has caught us incredibly unprepared
