Benny Boo's Hepatoblastoma
Spende geschützt
Hello friends and family,
As some of you may already know, Darren and Chelsea's world has been shattered and forever changed by the recent diagnosis of a cancerous tumor found on Bennet's liver called hepatoblastoma. Their beautiful boy hadn't been feeling well for nearly a month. He was getting fevers almost every day and was not his normal happy, playful self. They brought him in a couple times over the past few weeks, but the doctors thought it was just viral colds he may have gotten back to back. After antibiotics didn't help and he got another fever, Bennet was brought to the UW Health Children's Hospital on May 6th. His tummy was a little hard and the doctors wanted bloodwork and an ultrasound to get a better look. With those results the doctors notified Darren and Chelsea that Bennet had a large tumor growing on his liver. Darren and Chelsea, as well as family and friends are heartbroken that this has happened. Lots of tears have been shed, and all the uncertainty has brought about a lot of stress and anxiety.
Fortunately, CT scans and biopsy results have shown that the cancer has not spread to any other place in his body or his lymph nodes. Although the type of liver cancer Bennet has is rare, it is treatable and curable. The doctors and staff at UW Health Children's Hospital have been incredibly supportive and informative. They have confidence that Bennet will beat this!! However, the Bicigo family has a long road ahead (about a year long) that includes chemotherapy, surgery and of course, expensive bills.
Bennet is a strong little boy, and Darren and Chelsea are the best parents he could possibly have, who will fight this alongside him. Sweet Benny Boo is so loved, and he has a long and wonderful life ahead of him.
The Bicigo family appreciate all the support, prayers, well wishes from everyone, and any contribution you can make. The donations will help with medical bills, hospital food, days off work, gas, etc.
All the continued support you can offer will be forever appreciated.
Love,
Darren, Chelsea, Bennet, Lilyan and Chunk
