Benjamins IWK fund
Donation protected
As many of you already know, Benjamin was diagnosed with severe Hemophilia A on Wednesday August 30th. Hemophilia is a blood disease, where there is a lack of protein in the liver which is what causes a person to clot. Benjamin and his family have already had one visit to the IWK but will require many more. He is being followed closely by several doctors and nurses as well here in Moncton. Because there is no set plan in place as of right now, his mother is unable to work due to sudden and frequent appointments. He will be having a surgery to insert a portacath into his chest so he can receive his treatments of factor VIII injections. He will need the injections anywhere from 3 times a week to once a day. The portacath is used to make the injections easier on Benjamin so that they aren't always fishing for a vein. The fund will go towards the IWK visits, his medication, and any financial difficulties the family is experiencing at this time. This is something Benjamin will live with for the rest of his life, although it does not change him as a person, it simply limits several daily and extra-curricular activities. Any donation will help and would be greatly appreciated!
