Benjamin was born with an ASD and a VSD. Basically, he has two holes in heart that need to be repaired. We thought the VSD had closed on its own but his last echo showed that it had not and is most likely allowing unrestricted blood flow into his lungs. He has become very tired lately and at times is difficult to wake up. He has a feeding tube so he is able to still get his feeds in even when he’s too tired. We had planned on staying at the Ronald McDonald house in Charleston while Benjamin has his surgery and recovers but because of the pandemic, a lot of procedures were postponed and they are busy. We asked to be put on the wait list but it looks like we will need to get a hotel. After researching, we realized that we could use the help on paying for the hotel or rental. Benjamin has an approximate recovery time of 3 weeks (hopefully sooner and not longer). They do not allow parents to stay in the ICU with babies (although we can visit). This fund will go to pay for the hotel and meals while we are there. Thank you for your generosity.
