UPDATE:
The Hamann family would like to thank all of you who have donated or shared. As requested by the family, I would like to share a little more about why we started this GoFundMe. An organization called the Colby Foundation has reached out to the family and helps with part of the funeral expense but does not help with all of it. Unfortunately, the organization has not been back in touch with the family.
Money raised through this platform will be used for numerous things. For example, this family unexpectedly has to plan for a final resting place for Benjamin. The Hamann's have purchased a plot for their family of four as well as Benjamin's headstone. Additional unexpected expenses include flights for the family to come home for a private service, grief counseling, medical bills, personal time off because neither Jessica nor Eric receive bereavement time, and compensating pay for the surrogate's short-term disability.
On July 8th Jessica and surrogate Lori went in for their final ultrasound at 38 weeks with hopes of seeing and hearing Baby Benjamin's heartbeat one more time before he was due to arrive on July 16th. At that time, they learned Benjamin had already gained his angel wings.
Benjamin Eric William Hamann "Benny Bear" was received in the arms of his loving parents and big sister on July 9th, 2022.
We're asking Benjamin's Village to come together once more to help his family with final arrangement expenses.
The Hamann family is overwhelmed with the love and support from their community. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
