Hi, my name is Ashley, Dawn Rutherford and I have lived with Travis for over seven years. His parents passed when he was younger and he has only a few other living family members his uncle, on his mother side, Michael Bowling & his wife. His stepmother in Ohio, Brenda Cook, whom has suffered severe health complications ever since the passing of Travis‘s dad, Benjamin. Travis did not have insurance and we have numerous medical bills from three back surgeries not, including the foreclosure of our home and a previous encounter at CAMC before his passing.Travis did not have insurance and we have a 2 1/2 year old child this cannot happen at a more devastating time. About four months ago we found out the home I own was being foreclosed on . These funds will go to Travis’s burial, monument expenses, and Medical bills he has obtained . I have just currently started a job, but have yet to receive any paychecks. My insurance does not cover my son or Travis so any help will be greatly appreciated. Travis was the type of man he would do anything for his son. Connor is actually named after him.
Benjamin Cook, better known as Travis, passed away at his home Friday morning. Travis was a family man. Originally from Oceana, West Virginia. His son Benjamin, known as "Connor" was definitely the light of his life. travis was a very loyal and loving father and never knew a stranger. He would help anyone with anything and missed his friends dearly from Oceana West Virginia. if there is anything that you would like for me to have , family belongings, clothing, memorabilia or photos of his legacy are very much needed. Travis was adopted and we do not have a lot of photos of his parents and him and family growing up during his childhood. I would appreciate it if anybody would call me at 681-710- 4503 and text or send any information so we can get prepared for the services.
Travis was my soulmate and I know that we as a family we are definitely not prepared for such a loss especially after recently losing our home to a foreclosure. we truly appreciate anything that you can help with. God knows Travis would never ask for anything however, I want him to be remembered for the man he was this is been truly just devastating and life-changing for not only me and my son, but the community as well.
