Hello friends and family and whatever extended networks this reaches. I have often said that I was lucky to be in a position where various catastrophes haven't been enough to push me to need one of these fundraisers. I guess 2022 decided to accept that challenge. I hit my point of being unable to compensate for unexpected difficulties this year around June and have made it three months. Hooray! A chemical burn to a significant portion of my left foot on September 28th resulted in hospitalization from the 30th until October 6th. Significant outpatient care needs and at least one follow-up surgery are still required.
While I have health insurance, they cover the absolute minimum until their deductible has been met, and then apply certain percentages... and it's a mess. I have set this fundraiser goal at 10,000 simply because I have minimal information and expect to be out of pocket around 7 to 8 thousand from the ER and hospital room costs alone.
Because I hate needing to ask for help, much less on this scale, recompense by way of seasonings or food will be available (probably early 2023).
