Hi, my name is Curt, and I am starting this fundraiser in an effort to direct gifts and well-wishing for the family of Ben Hanke to the most helpful place possible.

Ben was the loved and cherished father of two who sadly lost his life far too early this past Sunday, February 26, at the age of 34. His daughter Sophia (10) and son, Wyatt (6) have lost their dad, which we all know is a hole that is not possible to fill. At the same time, they lost their provider.

The family and friends of Ben have been shocked and saddened by their loss. To say that it was unexpected is an understatement. They have been scrambling to make peace with the emotional roller coaster that comes with such a tragedy and to address the necessary arrangements that must now be made. All this while being placed in the impossible position of caring for the needs of two young minds and hearts that don't understand how this can be happening.

Ben's wife, Teesa, and the children do not have many resources to start rebuilding with. For this reason, as appreciative as they are of cards and flowers at this difficult time, I would like to convey that it is financial assistance that is most practical for them right now.

Ben's extended family would like to express gratitude in their behalf for any monetary help that can be shared. Even small amounts of support add up to much, for those who have so little.
