First and foremost, Ben was a much loved family man-- a husband to Michelle and father to nine children (Cyrus, Laila, Bella, Joseph, Tyler, Taylor, Destiny, Jacob and Erica).  He was a truly inspiring man who many, including myself, were proud to call a friend.  Anyone who knew him knew that he was a passionate man.  Whether he was defending someones legal rights in court, learning to speak a foreign language, cooking a foreign dish, kick boxing, sharing drinks with friends, or planning his next adventure somewhere  in the World, Ben never did things by halves.  

Ben gave so much to the Bakersfield community and helped so many people in their time of need.   My hope is that people now give back to help his family at this difficult time.
