Katelyn Ruda, a treasured wife, mother, friend, and nurse passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 9, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Mark Ruda; son, Benjamin Ruda

Katelyn was born in Bakersfield, CA on October 5, 1990 to Paul and Tricia Hacker. She fulfilled her longtime dream of becoming a nurse in 2017 and married the love of her life, Mark Ruda, shortly after in September, 2017. On January 24, 2019, their son Benjamin was welcomed into this world and Katelyn’s dream of becoming a mother became a reality.

Katelyn was a devoted mother and wife and was always ready to pull on her cowboy boots and a flannel while listening to some country music. She enjoyed hiking, spending time with family and friends, and watching Dirty Dancing for the thousandth time. Katelyn was compassionate, strong-willed, and an exceptional mother. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, coworkers, and those who were lucky enough to have her in their lives.
