Life can change in a blink of an eye. Benito has experienced and endured things that most of us couldn't be capable of facing.
Benito Berduo-Ovalle was a young healthy man. However, everything changed April 20th, 2019. He started with chest pains which just got worse. His wife, Estela, took him to Beebe hospital and they were told that he had three heart attacks and his heart was only pumping at 30%. They were told that he needed open heart surgery. However, while awaiting heart surgery, the very next day he had a massive stroke that left him paralyzed to his left side and lost his vision to his left eye. He was flown to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. At Thomas Jefferson doctors told his wife that Benito only had two hours to live. However, with he help of doctors and God he was discharged from the hospital two and a half month later.
Until today heart surgery is still required to save his life but things are getting complicated by a clot that is causing intermittent loss of vision to his right eye. He has had four surgeries to his right eye and as of last month he has lost vision to the right eye.
In an attempt to save his vision on the right eye, Benito needs to see a specialist to remove the clot before he can have his heart surgery.
Benito is not only fighting for his life, he is fighting to see his children grow and to love his wife. Benito has battled anxiety, anger, grief, and depression. Through it all Benito has found strength to keep fighting and his faith has kept him balanced.
Until today his wife, Estela, has been the only breadwinner. They have received some help from other family members and church members, however bills continue to pile up. In the upcoming month when Benito has his eye surgery and heart surgery, his wife will have to stay home to take care of him. This is where our help comes in. Please donate to give him a chance to continue fighting to save his life. Thank you in advance for your support and God Bless you!!
