On June 17, 2021, our mom Benita Tax suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and was rushed to St. Joseph Medical Center. While there they performed emergency surgery to repair the ruptured aneurysm by way of Endovascular Coiling. While the surgery was a success, her brain had bled alot due to the injury and she suffered a stroke and severe vasospasms. She has spent the past two weeks in the ICU being monitored and receiving treatment.

We hope that soon she will be released from ICU where she will be put in a seperate wing in the hospital to be monitored. After that she will be transfered to a rehabilitation center until she can be released to go home.

Anyone who knows Benita personally already knows the hardworking, caring woman that she is. Through her strength and independence she has blessed all of our lives over the years by being the loving mother, thoughtful friend, and honest worker in all of our lives, always willing to use her own time to help each and everyone of us out whenever she could. It is that same strength, along with that of her family and friends, that will get her through this recovery so she may gain her independence once again.
