Meet Beni. He is your typical bubbly, goofy, & happy go lucky little boy. He is the most loving and snuggliest boy I’ve ever known.
Sweet Beni began having seizures when he was 4 years old, and it’s been a struggle ever since. Years of testing, different medications, and multiple hospital visits later, and still, no answers.
Last week Beni started with a fever that lasted for about 4 days. He was seen by his PCP and then sent to Children’s for further testing. He stayed overnight, but was discharged the next morning, under the assumption that his positive RSV test was the culprit for his lethargic state. Except, his symptoms didn’t improve at all, and truthfully just worsened over the next 48 hours.
As of today, March 4th, Beni is back at Children’s and in the PICU. Below is the most recent update from Mom.
“This is day 12 of Beni being severely disabled. Not able to walk, communicate or eat much at all.
Doctors have no answers as of yet, but they’ve run all the tests they can think of. And they’ve ruled out several possibilities.
We’re staying in the ICU for the next few days while they run tests & rack their brains. This is our third overnight stay in the last two months. Not counting the many day visits we regular.
We’re ready for answers. But mostly, just ready to have our boy back.
I may not respond to dms or texts, but please know we greatly appreciate all the love and support.
Keep praying and sending love his way.”
The funds raised from this GoFundMe will be used for Beni’s medical bills and the expenses that come with extended stays in the hospital. I will try to keep this updated as I know more from Mom and Dad. Thank you for reading Beni’s story.
