Update - Feb 19th: It is with a heavy heart that I’m sharing the news that I had to say goodbye to my boy, Bengy this afternoon.

Thank you all so much for the love and support for him over the last few days, it means so much to me and my family.

He was so brave during the last week at the vets, undergoing major surgeries, but unfortunately, there were just too many future operations needed, which were likely to cause complications and future quality of life issues.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and shown support. It went a long way to giving Bengy the best chance possible.

On 14th February 2026, while on a walk, my beloved dog Bengy was hit and run over by a car after slipping from his collar at the side of a main road.

His injuries were very severe, causing his right rear leg to be completely broken off, his left rear hip to be thrown out, and his abdomen to be ruptured. There were many times that I thought I would lose him.

He was admitted to Pool House Veterinary Hospital in Lichfield, where he would undergo surgery to remove his rear right leg, repair his abdominal rupture, and put his rear left hip back in place.

Miraculously, after an incredible amount of trauma and hours in surgery, he has stabilised, and we now have a glimmer of hope.

However, there is still a long road ahead, and the possibility of needing further surgeries and specialist vets is making it incredibly difficult to support his needs financially.

With this campaign, I hope to support Bengy's fight and fund future medical needs so he can be back on his feet and wagging his tail.
