Ben Farrar's Fund #BenStrong
Donation protected
On April 19, 2015, Ben Farrar was enjoying his first trip to France on an honors student high school exchange program when, in just one moment, his life changed. What began as an innocent attempt to cool off in the ocean turned into a serious accident, when Ben dove into the too-shallow waters and hit his head against the hard bottom of the ocean.
The collision crushed Ben’s vertebrae in his neck resulting in his spinal cord being crushed, leaving him as a quadriplegic. Ben spent 7 months in the hospital and at Spaulding dealing with these injury and wound received on flight back to Boston.
Since Ben has been home he has been going to Project Walk in NH for therapy. This therapy has helped him maintain the movement he does have and strenghthen those muscles, however, these visits are not covered by insurance. We have been holding fundraisers for Ben on a yearly basis to help with these cost that are in excess of $50k a year, the next event is November 18th, 2017. More information about the event can be found here: http://www.benfarrarfund.com
So many people have reached out and asked what they can do, so as friends of the Farrar's, we have created this GoFundMe page to ask for your help. All donations help. Any donation you make, small or large, will help Ben’s family get him the best possible therapy that meet his needs.
Funds collected will be a gift from you directly to Ben's therapy. We appreciate all the love and the support we know Ben will receive both here in Marblehead and from friends around the world. Please do share the link on your Facebook and Twitter pages and help us take the campaign for Ben global so we reach our goal of $150,000. Link to this page at http://www.GoFundMe.com/BenFarrar.
