Benefiting Ernest's family
Donation protected
Ernest was one of those genuine souls that are extremely rare in your life. I can not tell you how many times I saw him go out of his way to help someone else. He was always there with an encouraging word, or a silly saying. Ernest was so loved, by so many people and I know that everyone will come together in his family's time of need.
I woke up to some of the absolute worst news ever on Tuesday morning, before my managing shift at Chang's. For those of you that do not know, Ernest was involved in a car accident early Tuesday morning. Sadly, he did not survive the impact. I am starting a fundraiser to help with some of the financial burden that his poor sweet momma is having to take on, alone. He was his momma's backbone and support system. He was helping raise his niece and nephew, and as I'm sure everyone knows...those kids were his life.
Chang's is pulling together to see what else we can help with. A few of us drove out to see his mom and Nick yesterday, and took them some groceries. She was definitely grateful to see us, and Nick said that was the most she had smiled and talked all day. I am also in the process of setting up a meal train, so we can at least take some of the burden off of his momma. If anyone is looking to be added to the meal train, get in touch with me or Shalyn Beasley.
I have just learned that his funeral service will be this Friday May 7th at 4pm. Bethel Cemetery and the Church of God in Andrews, SC. I will be posting directions and other info within the next day or so.
Sincerely,
Brandy Clark
