Benefiting Blake
Donation protected
Blake Lipnichan was recently accepted into HABIT (Hand-Arm Bimanual Intensive Therapy), it is a month long intensive therapy for children with CP (Cerebral Palsy). HABIT aims to improve the use and coordination of both arms in daily function. It requires 90 hours of intensive therapy and is performed in group settings with an emphasis of having fun. Blake will be participating in therapy with other children with hemiplegic CP from around the world.
Blake and his twin brother Jace were born at 29 weeks. Blake suffered a right parietal stroke in utero, leaving him with hemiplegia (paralysis of one side of the body) and several years of therapy. He is an intelligent and active almost six year old who will benefit greatly from this amazing opportunity his therapists and physicians petitioned for his acceptance.
The therapy itself is paid for through a grant and will be conducted at Columbia University in New York City. The funds collected will be used for housing, transportation, food and any other expenses Blake and his family might encounter.
A savings account has been opened in Blake’s name and the funds collected will be deposited into his account. I will also be hosting a paint and sip, chalk painting class, t-shirt sale, Jane’s Stromboli, 50/50 drawing, and others along the way. Please consider helping Blake.
*** I work with Blake’s mom Jayme Lipnichan, believe in him and this amazing opportunity, and gave the first donation opening his account at the Grove City Federal Credit Union. I appreciate any help you are willing and able to give. ***
