Scott Stonebraker lost his battle with cancer Feb 28th. Diagnosed with cancer on Jan 28th, he had a short time to battle the aggressive cancer that had spread throughout his body. He passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Scott was a devoted, proud, encouraging, supportive father of 2 & beloved teacher at BASIS Mesa. His big smile, bright suits, and colorful ties paled in comparison to the love he had for his boys, the enthusiasm that he brought to the classroom, & his passion for teaching. When Scott's oldest was preparing for his blue belt in Taekwondo, he told him if he achieved it, that he would join him on this adventure and start training. He kept his word and earned his own black belt alongside his boys. He never missed a Sunday taking them to church and sharing his love of Jesus. Scott enjoyed sharing his passions with his sons. He exposed them to the world of music through various concerts and kept track of every movie they attended together; 24 in the theater last year alone. He shined in his role as a father, and his boys will forever be his lasting legacy.
As his boys prepare for life without their father, let's show them that his spirit has touched us all, and rally to raise money to provide for them in their next steps in life and help prepare them for college in the future. Additionally, money will be used for funeral preparations.
