Nicholas (age 15), son of Ed and Amber Hernandez, brother to Jacob (age 10), and nephew to many including Anna and Greg Blackmon and Julie Aviles, needs a heart transplant. Nicholas was born with a defective heart and Dannon syndrome. He is a freshman at Calumet New Tech High School but is in Minnesota awaiting the transplant.

During this time the family could use assistance with medical bills, travel expenses, and living expenses. We are creating this fundraiser to help alleviate the financial burden. For the foreseeable future, Amber and Nick will be staying in Minnesota until a heart is available while Ed is at home working and Jacob is staying with family to continue to attend school.
