Benefit for the family of Greensboro Sgt. Nix

**This fundraiser has been approved by the Nix family and Greensboro Police Department**

On December 30, 2023, Sergeant Philip Nix of the Greensboro Police Department, a dedicated and selfless officer, made the ultimate sacrifice while off duty. Sgt. Nix attempted to intervene during a crime at a Sheetz, only to be shot by one of the three suspects. Despite the valiant efforts of another off-duty officer and a paramedic at the scene to revive him, Sgt. Nix tragically succumbed to his injuries.

According to Greensboro PD, Sergeant Philip Dale Nix who served the city faithfully for 23 years was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. Sergeant Nix worked with GPD under many assignments including Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Detective, Patrol Corporal, Patrol Sergeant, and his most current assignment was as Supervisor of the Family Victims Unit.

In honor of Sgt. Nix's heroism and dedication to protecting the community, Back The Blue NC, Inc. is launching a fundraising campaign to support his surviving wife and children during this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will directly assist the family with any immediate financial burdens they may face.
