We're happy, we feel loved, the sun is shining and it's been an awesome week! Or, something, Everything seemed like it was a disaster and we may feel defeated by some of life's nuances that just seemed unbearable today. That is until ... until, you find out a smart, witty, genuine friend of yours (whose sass should be able to cure anything!) was just diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. All too quick, whats truly important in life becomes a vivid reality and we remember our friends, our family, our "Hamliy", are counting on us for our kindness, love and support!
Just over a month ago, Robin started experiencing tenderness in her abdomen. She scheduled an appointment and had the belief that it was most likely something fairly common and easily treatable. The scan showed, in fact, that it was much more. Robin was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, stage 3. The following week, the pathology report confirmed the doctors findings. The disease quickly took its course and proceeded to affect surrounding areas without warning. Our dear friend was immediately scheduled for and underwent a 6 hour surgery. Robin is strong and she did great! The doctors are very confident that they were able to take out most of the cancer and optimistic that aggressive treatment will handle the rest. Over the course of the next year, Robin will be going through extensive chemotherapy, followed by, one last additional surgery and a series of medications. It is going to be a tough road, but one that she can handle!
Mike, Robin's fiancée, has been by her side through this ongoing process. In addition to helping Robin through her diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer, Mike has also been standing by the side of his father who had colon cancer. Hospice sent Joe, Mike's dad, home this past Friday. It is with deepest sympathy that Joe lost his battle with cancer two days later, Sunday, April 30th 2017.
We, Robin's friends, wanted to do all we can to help lift some of the immense financial burden that she and Mike will be sharing and be there through her battle with cancer. Please help show your support, if possible, with any financial contribution. Even one dollar is greatly appreciated!
We have also scheduled a Spaghetti Dinner benefit for Robin June, 19th 2017 at the Hamlin Pub. Please join us to show support for her there, as well! Details are provided below.
If you're still reading, thank you for taking the time to listen to Robin's story! Again, every kind of support, whether financial or personal, it's appreciated more than you know! Please feel free to share this with friends and family. Also, If you have any questions regarding support or donations please contact Theresa Rammler at [phone redacted] or myself Marci Price at [phone redacted]. We are more than happy to help in any way possible.
Sincerest Regards
