Benefit for Kim Martin

Dear friends,
There are few people in the world that I have regarded as wise mentors. Kim Martin was one of them. We would meet for coffee from time to time and I would walk away awed by her knowledge of the scriptures and sage advice. She never judged in her counsel. Invariably as she spoke, I would picture her with a lantern in her right hand outstretched, leading the way through the darkness. I called her my light bearer friend. I told her she was a like a night watchman who kept diligent guard in the darkness, ensuring there was a visible light for those in need of shelter. She would smile and look at me quizzically, asking “what makes you say that?”. It was a rare coffee date that I did not tell her this and my answer was always the same. “Because Kim”, I would say with a countering smile, “you are wise and fierce and brave”. I loved her for it. She was a prayer warrior and generous with her time. She was always there, ready to pray and offer an encouraging word.
She loved her son, Kaleb and his wife Lauren so immensely that is beamed off of her when she spoke of them. Her grandson, he brought her heart intense joy, love and pride. She was so smitten with that good-looking little grandbaby of hers. It brings a smile to my face to remember her showing me pictures of him. She told me, “yeah, I like him a lot” and we laughed out loud as she looked down at her phone for one last glance at her grandbaby named Gideon. Just as the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:38 that nothing can come between the love of God and us, nothing could come between the love Kim had for her family and friends.
I share her heart with you, her friends, and ask to donate to help her family during this deeply sad time. As a tribute to the fierce and loyal sister in Christ that she was to us, to take this opportunity to help her family.
Thank you.
