Benefit for Joshua VanAlstyne and family
Donation protected
My name is Terri VanAlstyne and my husband, Scott, and I are organizing a fundraiser event to help our son, Joshua VanAlstyne, and his family with medical expenses and bills until he can get back on his feet.
Any help, donations, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
On March 25th, Josh was rushed to the emergency room in respiratory distress. He was intubated and placed on the ventilator immediately. Diagnosed with a severe case of bilateral pneumonia, he remained on the ventilator for 1 week. But this pneumonia persisted for 2 weeks despite aggressive antibiotic therapy, requiring a chest tube to drain the infection from his left lung. As of April 6th, Josh has just started showing improvement but remains in a very weak state. Still unable to walk or care for himself, we anticipate he will require an undetermined amount of time for recovery.
Josh lives with his fiancée, Amber, and their 2 young children, Jamison and Garrett. Garrett has Autism and requires therapy several times a week.
It is unknown at this time when Josh will be able to return to work and what medical needs he will require once he is discharged from the hospital.
