Benefit for Family of Officer Ryan Hayworth

In the early hours of October 17th Knightdale Police Officers responded to a vehicle crash on I-540. During the course of their investigation Officers Ryan Hayworth (23 years old) and Training Officer Cody Hagler were in their Departmental SUV when a possibly intoxicated driver struck them going in excess of 90 mph. Hayworth was announced to be deceased from the collision by Knightdale PD this morning. Training Officer Hagler is reported to be in serious but stable condition.

Officer Ryan Hayworth served with Knightdale PD for 3 months and a veteran of the US Army. Officer Hayworth is the son of former Zebulon Police Chief Hayworth.
