Hi all - On July 18, Pokemon Go Team Mystic lost a maniac. Ben (HavocX12) passed away about 1pm, with his family around him.

As you may remember, he had a stroke in 2019 that took out his left side. This year, on 4th of July, he had another stroke. He was in the pool at the time, and the stroke impacted his right side this time - so he slipped under the water. He was pulled out within about a minute, and a few of the people at the BBQ performed CPR until EMTs arrived. 

He was rushed to John Muir, where he was admitted to the ICU, and sedated + put on a ventilator as the stroke had impacted his ability to breathe on his own. Over the next 2 weeks, it became clear that Ben was never going to regain full consciousness - and would spend the rest of his life tied to machines and a bed. Ben had made it clear he never wanted that, so the decision was made to take him off life support so he could pass peacefully.

We want to encourage you to live life to the fullest each day in honor of Ben. He loved the walking he got to do every day, hatching crappy eggs and exploring his neighborhoods with USPS. He was so passionate about his cooking, and in the last 6 years had developed a love for caring for himself and just living every day to the best he could. We’re all going to miss his big smile and infectious laugh.

We've started this GoFundMe for him and his family to navigate the loss and cover the costs that come with 2 weeks in an ICU. Any little bit helps, and we appreciate any thoughts, healing vibes, and prayers as we try to get them through this. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we know that Ben had an impact on everyone he touched, and we wanted to make everyone aware he’s passed on.
