About Us:

Alan Gordon is a driven storyteller from Melbourne, Australia. Trained to tell stories with creative and technical precision, Alan's spark for storytelling through the visual medium of film began at a young age through performing on stage at his local community theatre before transitioning to work in front and behind the camera. With skills equipped and refined through his Bachelor of Film, Television & Animation at Deakin University.

Having produced and assistant directed his latest short film 'Lutto', Alan is already tackling his role on "Beneath the Banner" with enthusiasm, discipline and commitment. Utilising his attention to detail in project management, scheduling and execution. All whilst strengthening and demonstrating his team-building and leadership skills as Producer in the development of this story.

James Foley is an emerging filmmaker from Alice Springs, NT, with a lifelong passion for storytelling and cinema. His creative journey began at a young age and led him to pursue formal training, completing a Diploma of Film, Television & Animation at Deakin College, and currently studying a Bachelor of Film, Television & Animation at Deakin University.

James made his directorial debut with the short film The Last Drag, where he showcased his eye for visual storytelling and character-driven narratives. Now, he is co-founding Cuttarama Studios alongside fellow filmmaker Hanson Xu. Their first production, Beneath the Banner, is a bold step into independent filmmaking—a project designed to demonstrate their growth from first-year film students to confident storytellers ready to leave their mark on the screen.

Hanson Xu is a passionate visual storyteller from Dalian, China, with a deep-rooted love for cinema and its power to move and inspire. His creative path led him to Australia, where he completed both a Diploma of Film, Television & Animation at Deakin College and a Bachelor of Film, Television & Animation at Deakin University.

Hanson brings a strong technical eye to filmmaking, with hands-on experience as a colorist, gaffer, and cinematographer across a range of short films. Now, as the co-founder of Cuttarama Studios alongside director James Foley, Hanson is stepping into the spotlight with Beneath the Banner—a bold and stylistic debut that marks the beginning of a new chapter in his creative journey.
