Beneath the Cedars - Emergency Relief Operations in Lebanon
Donation protected
1.2 million people in Lebanon have been displaced, leaving their homes and lives behind. That's 25% of the population. They're now in overcrowded shelters, facing a severe lack of basic necessities.
At Sila, we're launching a Giving Campaign to support Emergency Relief efforts for Internally Displaced People in Lebanon. An Ireland based initiative aimed at creating community spaces through cultural events. We partnered with NGOs and individuals on ground who are working tirelessly to support vulnerable and displaced individuals and families all over Lebanon.
Lucy Jane Turner, an Irish volunteer who chose Lebanon as her home 10 years ago, is using funds for shelter, clothing and blankets. 9$ can guarantee a blanket for one person and a warm sleep. Provided over 1,000 blankets to date by working with local suppliers and supporting small medium businesses.
Al Mubadara 2024, a citizen-driven initiative kicked off by 3 women Ghena Sandid, Farah Dika and Sarah Yassine. For every 29.5$ we fund a food parcel and for every 11.40$ we contribute to a hygiene one. In 60 days, they managed to support 6,000 families across 317 centers across all Lebanon.
Beit El Baraka, a trusted NGO with a proven track record of efficiency and transparency fully supporting ~20,000 people in 76 shelters across the country with nutritious food, medical care, hygiene products and mattresses. Preparing ~10,000 fresh meals/day in their community kitchen. Supporting volunteer first responders with protective gear for their rescue missions.
Lebanon is facing its most severe humanitarian crisis since the Great Famine of 1915. The situation is urgent, and the needs are significant. Your contributions will directly assist those who have lost their homes and are facing immense hardship.
With Love,
