Bench Dedication in memory of Bob Malloch
https://www.elizabethparkct.org/
Hello family and friends of Bob Malloch,
Bob touched all of our hearts and lives and we wanted to do something to honor him. One of Bob’s favorite places to visit was Elizabeth Park. He also spent his work volunteer hours there to help beautify the park. This fundraiser has been set up to collect donations that will go towards a bench dedication in memory of Bob outside of the rose garden. The donation amount needed to dedicate the bench is $2,500.
Elizabeth Park is a city park in Hartford and West Hartford, CT, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It covers 102 acres with formal gardens, green space, recreational facilities and walking loops. It is the oldest municipal rose garden in the United States currently containing approximately 15,000 bushes and 800 rose varieties.
This fundraiser will remain open through April 1, 2021. At that time, the total amount collected will go to the Elizabeth Park Conservancy. A bench dedication application will also be submitted (by Elena Ridente). Once payment is received, the Conservancy will order the dedication plaque, which usually takes about four to six weeks to receive from the sign company. The donation period will last 10 years.
Once we receive confirmation of the installation date and location of the bench we will communicate to everyone so you can visit the park as Bob loved to do. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
If you have a suggestion for the wording on the plaque, please include that in the comments section. A maximum of three lines of text and 30 characters per line is permitted on the bench-mounted plaques. The text is subject to the approval of the Conservancy staff.
Please feel free to share this GoFundMe link with others that may want to donate.
Thank you!
Elena Ridente
