I was diagnosed last week with a brain tumor called Anaplastic Astrocytoma (grade 3). I had the tumor removed last Thursday (the 13th) and I will be introduced to chemo and radiation treatments this week. I wanted to take some time to write about how much I appreciate the support of my family and friends during this difficult time.  Your, thoughts, prayers, insight and even humor, have given me strength and inspiration as a single father going through this difficult season of life. This last week, rough as it was happened to be a much needed change in my life. I found peace and happiness in life, and I realized that trials or rather how a man reacts to them defines his character.  We grow during the hard times. When life knocks is down.... We get back up. I realized that through my struggles I can show my boys the example on how to handle adversity and be strong men of character. This week showed me how valuable each day is. It showed me that I should never take the moments, family, friends or opportunities we have for granted. I want to thank each and every person who has shared my story, prayed, given words of encouragement, donated, shared stories and prayer chains, texted, called and stopped by to visit. It is because of each and everyone of you that I have remained positive through such a difficult season of life. I have a great new appreciation and outlook and have seen some big blessings because of this trial and I look forward to seeing what God will do through it all.
