Now it's about trying to get back to work. Hoping the job offers I was reviewing when this all started won't require me to speak which is almost laughable for someone in a leadership position. I've been delivering for now and that keeps me housed and with transportation, but barely. Getting sick throwing everything into kaos is stressful but I'm coping as best I can.
Things had been going so well. After playing music professionally, working in the Sound Department for the HBO series The Wire, as well as for America's Most Wanted and countless concerts and festivals, things were going fantastic. I had moved back to Baltimore after a brief stint in Las Vegas, to be closer to family and friends while building my production company here in the city I loved so much.
So I bought a sailboat and began living a modest life aboard to save money and focus on working. Then the pandemic hit and everything crashed to a halt. I hunkered down and waited it out all the while losing the very friends and loved ones I wanted to be closer to. My younger brother Jeffrey ( https://www.facebook.com/DJTWIRL?mibextid=ZbWKwL ) being the last casualty. I thought the worst over and behind me.
As the pandemic was coming to a close I was set to start a new chapter in life. Things were looking to turn towards the positive and though I was having some minor healthcare issues of my own, healthcare staff assured me everything was ok.
In October after 7 months of chronic laryngitis improving only to worsen weeks later, I insisted on a CT scan that showed a mass on my larynx.
I've had to postpone starting my new job and now trying to explore and schedule treatment options while maintaining my living space which is now also at risk after months of misdiagnosis.
Thank you for any and all donations as well as the emotional support I've received since this began.
