Hello friends.
Monday night, July 2nd, my dad Ben Vallejos was riding his motorcycle and subsequently struck from behind by a driver that witnesses on the scene report was occupied by his phone, thus not paying attention to road and causing severe physical harm to my father.
I am creating this campaign in the ICU with my brother and mom as we wait for my dad to come out of his second procedure of three in order stabilize his condition enough to bring him out of sedation.
So far, we know that Ben has suffered two shattered vertebrae, a broken collarbone, pulmonary contusions, a lacerated liver, and severe internal bleeding from a ruptured spleen that has since been removed. There is possibility of more injury as well that has yet to be identified.
My intention with this campaign is to create a buffer of funds that can be used to both help ease the significant financial strain that will follow this incident, and to help ensure that our basic needs are met such as rent and food costs while we miss out on wages to be here for my dad❤️
The goal dollar amount is completely arbitrary, we are humbled and honored to accept any support at all from our community. I hope to personally reach out with thanks/food/love/hugs/original music to everyone that is able to help us out!
My intention is also to have the space serve as the official hub of updates for family and friends. I will be posting news as I learn it in order to keep our community appraised of how our favorite photographer and community builder is recovering. Thank you all for your outpouring of support.
