BENJAMIN “BEN” MICHAEL TERRILL
Age 16, of Newbury Twp., died unexpectedly on October 26, 2020 in Newbury. Born September 23, 2004 in Burton, Ohio to David M. and Pamela A. (nee: Belmont) Terrill. Ben was a Sophomore at West Geauga High School, an active member of the Marching Band, playing the Tuba. He was a Life Scout, former Senior Patrol Leader and a member of Order of the Arrow of Scout Troop #99, Newbury. He attended the Boy Scout National Jamboree in Mt. Hope, West Virginia in 2019. Ben played Varsity Basketball for the former Newbury High School and participated with soccer and baseball. He was an avid sports fan. Ben attended Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas in July 2020, where he was recognized as the “Most Improved Camper” and served as Squad Leader. He enjoyed helping his dad at the Burton Middlefield Rotary Annual Pancake Breakfasts. Ben never met a stranger, “he loved everybody and if they didn’t love him, it was their loss”. He enjoyed large gatherings and being around family and friends.
Survivors are his parents, David and Pam Terrill, sister Emma Terrill, grandmothers, Barbara Terrill and Tandra Dolin. Ben also leaves numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, David B. Terrill. He loved his dogs, Darby, Bailey and Bentley “Bean”.
Funds are being raised to defray the cost of the funeral. All excess funds will be used to plant trees in Ben's memory, a fitting memorial to Ben, given his love of the outdoors and Scouting.
All funds will be given to Ben's parents, David and Pam, to distribute at their discretion to keep Ben's memory alive through: www.alivingtribute.org.
