Love and Support for Ben and Aimee Sims Family
Donation protected
Our kind and loving brother, Ben Sims, tragically passed away after a hiking accident in Kailua, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu on November 8, 2022.
The earth lost a great man, husband, father, son, and friend who inspired the lives of so many who knew him. Along with his beautiful wife, Aimee, and their kids, Ari, Quinn, and Roman Thunder, he was surrounded by very close friends and family as he passed. The outpouring of support from friends, ward members and neighbors was immeasurable - we’ve never seen anything like it. Many of his friends said Ben was their hero and commented that he helped them create a blueprint and a vision for their lives. Ben undoubtedly created a feeling of comfort and calmness when he was around that made everyone feel so loved. The tight and warm embraces from the many people of his “Hawaii Family” just confirmed his Christ-like character. His testimony of the Savior was fulfilled through his actions in every way. He had a huge heart and gave every ounce of effort and love to his family and friends. He was indeed a hero. A few years ago, during a family and friends beach day, Ari and her friend were dangerously stuck in a current. He courageously swam out and used his powerful body as their life raft. For minutes at a time he went under water and held the two little girls above while he swam them to safety.
When his little 18-month-old boy, Roman Thunder, was born, his heart was completely full of joy. His daily morning beach walks and frequent hikes with Roman on his back created an unshakable bond. He was a model father and husband. His sweet wife and love of his life, Aimee, is so devastated and through her grief has a difficult road ahead and many difficult decisions to make. They were working so hard and had so many plans for their future. We are so grateful for the love and support and outreach from everyone and we kindly ask for any support you can give by donating to a GoFundMe set up to help Aimee in every way.
Thank you and we truly appreciate your love and support.
