Hi, my name is Ben. I have had a bunch of life changes in the last year and a half. I recently started a second engineering major and have begun caring for my elderly parents; one who recently had a stroke. The largest change has been two bouts with cancer. This has really put a wrench in my goals. In the last year and a half I have had two surgeries and recently completed 8 weeks of chemo and radiation therapy for squamous carcinoma. I have spent all of my retirement and savings in the process trying to keep everything together for my family. I recently ran out of money completely leaving me at risk of losing utilities and even my house; that keeps my family safe. I am looking for support to get my family back into a secure place while I still am partaking in follow exams and appointments for the cancer. Keeping my family safe is just as important as my health, and I fear I may lose both if I cannot get my reoccurring house payment in order. I have given everything to my family to ensure a safe a healthy residence in their final years; while also overcoming this major health crisis. Funds will only be used to get my mortgage back in line so our house is not foreclosed o during this very though times. My parents are disabled and can only help so much on their fixed income. This is my last resort. I will still have medical bills for the foreseeable future. Hopefully I will be able to get back to work in the near future; until then, the small disability insurance is not enough to ensure safety for my bills and follow up treatment. Thank you to anyone who has anything to help. I pray for a miracle everyday. Your help will only strengthen my faith that all people need help something’s; and not everyone can do it by themself.
