About a year ago, when we were both active duty in the military, we decided to start a family and we became pregnant. Unfortunately, our hearts broke as we lost our baby boy. This past year has consisted of endless fertility testing, procedures and one of us has had 3 difficult medical diagnoses. One of them being a very serious rare disease that affects life expectancy and attacks major organs. This disease is genetic, so if we had children naturally, our child would have a significantly shorter life expectancy, would require regular drug infusions for their entire life and have a high risk of stroke, heart attack and kidney failure. IVF with the proper genetic testing is the only way to ensure we have a healthy child without this disease. Military insurance does not cover any of our fertility related expenses, which total to over $30,000. All we have ever wanted is to start a family, so we hope that you consider donating, or sharing our story. Thank you
