Ben Nevis Climb For Martin Kliment

Donation protected
Hi my name is Simon Kliment and recently my dad has passed away whilst hillwalking up Ben Nevis. Due to very harsh weather conditions and an accidental slip, my dad fell around 300ft. My dads two friends called the search and rescue team on Sunday around 3pm. They had to call off the search at 10pm and resumed the search the following morning. My dad was pronounced dead once his body was discovered around 1pm on Monday.

The plan is that a large group(20 people+/-) of family and friends will climb the tallest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis at some point in July depending on the weather conditions. Along the way we will place a cross at the place of my dads death. One of my dads traditions was to take a bottle of alcohol with him(usually whiskey) and have a celebratory toast once he reaches the top. Which is why the group will be having a toast of the Legacy Ardmore Whiskey which is what my dad had with him at the time of his death, once we reach the top. We will be doing this to honour my dads death.

The money raised will be used to cover some of the costs of the trip as well as donating to the Lochaber Mountain rescue and a charity called 'worldwide cancer research'. When my dad was 20 years old his mum passed away in his arms which is why I've chosen for half of the money to go a cancer research charity. The other half will go to the Lochaber Mountain rescue team for their tremendous efforts and hard work as they DO NOT get paid. I will be providing proof of the donations once we are finished fundraising. We are hoping to make a small impact for a good cause.

My dad passed away doing something that he loves, you can't ask for much more than that. I've attached a link to my Facebook post at the bottom, where I've expressed myself in more detail about the situation. I would also like to apologise to my dads two friends who were there with him during this tragic incident. Here is a photo moments before the accident(my dad on the left).

I've set a ridiculous goal of 25 thousand pounds. I do not expect to reach this goal but I will do whatever is in my power to get as close as possible. I've set this up early to give us time to raise as much money as possible for a great cause. Any donation will help us get closer to our goal. Every little helps. Please consider sharing as we want to reach as many people as possible.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
