Members of Surrey Fitness Hiking Club will be hiking Ben Nevis on 27th August 2023 to raise money for the Sri Lankan Family Charity Foundation. Every penny collected will be used for livelihood projects and to transform the educational environment of underprivileged pupils in rural areas in Sri Lanka.

Surrey Fitness Hiking Club members previously climbed Snowdon Mountain (on 1st May 2022) and raised funds that were donated to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, to purchase adult and fetal monitors, and to livelihood projects, including: setting up local grocery shops, flour grinding machines, water pumps, fencing for agriculture, and fishing nets

Twenty nine of us have completed our mission of climbing to the summit of Mount Ben Nevis on Sunday 27th of August as planned. Including following individuals have kindly volunteered to participate in our Ben Nevis fundraiser walk:

The main objective of the Sri Lankan Family Charity Foundation is to provide relief to overcome poverty, and for the advancement of education, for people living in rural areas within Sri Lanka. Particularly, but not exclusively, they are victims of the civil war and of natural disasters. The Sri Lankan Family Charity Foundation provides support with basic food, medical, and educational needs.
