My name is Louis McUmber and I graduated Allegheny College in 2019. This past weekend, my former and beloved ACXC/TF coach, Ben Mourer passed away. I, like all those that knew Ben, are devastated by this news. Coach Mourer, challenged any athlete he met not just to be a better competitor, but to be the best version of themself they could be. Some of the many lessons he taught us all included to cherish our friends like family, to push through adversity, to love what you do and that a little bit of humor goes a long way!

Ben’s contributions to so many young adults and his family will be felt throughout all of our lives. He had an invaluable impact as to who I and many others are today. An unforgettable legacy.
