Support for Ben, Justin, Eden and Ira.

IMPORTANT: This campaign must remain private due to the delicate political nature surrounding the circumstances. If it were to go public or reach the media this would jeopardise the situation for Ben, Justin and the twins – potentially forcing them to stay within Argentinian borders even longer. As you know Ben and Justin welcomed their precious twins on April 23, 2024. Within a 6 week window – post birth, they should have been issued birth certificates acknowledging them as the parents, been granted Argentinian and Australian citizenship for the twins as well as passports – and returned home safely to Melbourne. 4 months have now passed and the Civil Registry in Argentina have not issued birth certificates for surrogacy born babies – affecting in excess of 40 newborns and their families in Buenos Aires.

Argentina is suddenly trying to restructure their Laws and Legislation around Surrogacy – but this has not been carried out in a considered fashion, so these newborn babies and their parents have become collateral damage in a very fraught and complicated situation.

Justin and Ben have had to engage additional Surrogacy, Human Rights and Immigration Lawyers as well as Translators, Notaries and Interpreters – all at a huge expense. Without birth certificates they are not able to secure medical or health insurance for the twins, making each day in Argentina a threat to the babies’ basic human rights. Without this cover, simple things like 2 and 3 month vaccines are leaving Ben and Justin thousands out of pocket. Neither of them are able to work remotely, and without birth certificates for the twins; nor are they eligible for government parental assistance.

Additionally, they are navigating 300% inflation in Argentina, so everyday necessities like nappies and formula are three times the cost of what we would pay in Australia.

We hope to have the four of them home very soon, but in the meantime they could really use some assistance - if you’re in a position to help.
