On Thursday Ben, Jess and Penny fled their home in Paradise, California after being warned by a friend that a wildfire was heading towards them. Three days later, the fire is still burning and it has just been confirmed that their house and everything in it has been destroyed.
The town has been completely wiped out by the fire which has so far claimed 29 lives and destroyed over 100,000 acres of land.
Ben, Jess and Penny are staying with family in Truckee. They are safe and well and in good spirits. However they need our help! They left their house with the absolute bare essentials with 5 month old Penelope and their dog Django their priority. They have lost everything else they own.
Ben is a music teacher and does a lot of work from home in his studio which will now be gone. Ben will struggle to work until they get back on their feet so our help is needed to keep them going until they are able to start afresh.
We are all so grateful that they are safe but they have a hard time ahead whilst they rebuild their lives. With Ben out of work for now, they are using their savings to get by. Many people have asked how they can help and the best way is to make a donation!
Your money will be given to them to buy essentials like clothes and toiletries and help them with living costs. They will also need equipment for clearing up their land such as shovels, rakes and respirators.
Lets help them get back on their feet! Thank you from all our family. x

*If this reaches people that don't directly know Ben and Jess. I am Ben's sister and I am raising this money for them, it will be given to them and they will use it as they need to as described in the story. Thank-you for helping us!
